The Appalachians are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, and they hold hints of history far beyond written records and traditional storytelling. This foundational knowledge of the Blue Ridge Mountains sets the scene for all of the unique stories, incredible flora and fauna, breathtaking vistas, and stunning natural features that make up Shenandoah National Park today.

Join us for this very special webinar with Christopher ‘Chuck’ M. Bailey, Professor & Chair of the Department of Geology at William & Mary and President of the Geological Society of America. Dr. Bailey will take us on a storied tour of the awe-inspiring history of the land we now know as Shenandoah National park, told by its geological features. Learn about the stones that you pass on your favorite hike in the park, and what they reveal about the history and landscape!

Thu, Apr 25, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (EDT)

We look forward to having you attend the event!
