September 2021 Featured Event: Guided Hikes in Shenandoah National Park
Nature Walk in Big Meadows
Come explore the beauties of Big Meadows with Shenandoah National Park interns, Anna Burtch, Rebekah Everett, and Jordan Malhiot. This family-friendly walk is a guided tour of the flora and fauna of Big Meadows, with Interns sharing their expertise on land management and wildlife.
Hike Details: Approximately 90 minutes (10-11:30 am)
Hightop Summit Hike
This is a moderate-level hike going up and back from Hightop Parking Area, which is our starting point. Located (almost) in the Park’s Central District, it’s just 1.2 miles south of the Swift Run Entrance Station, convenient for those coming from the Southern district as well. Our guide will be Barb Stewart, hiker extraordinaire and former Park Ranger with the National Park Service.
Hike Details: Approximately 3 miles, 2.5 hours (10-12:30 am)
Thursday, September 30th: Wine on the Rooftop (at the SNPT office located in Charlottesville). Event begins at 5:30.
Friday, October 22 – Saturday, October 23rd : Rapidan Society Dinner and Weekend in the Park
